About Us

Otis the Pug The main business of Discerning Image LLC is to help small local businesses create and maintain an effective and ethical presence on the Internet.

Just as one shouldn’t have all their retirement money in a single fund,

neither should a business rely on a single method of advertising. Discerning Image LLC also consults with their clients on the uses of effective off-line marketing methods. It is our opinion that what ever it takes to make our clients thrive helps us, as well.

Discerning Image LLC also engages in on-line retailing and other Internet Marketing business models.

Just as a local brick and mortar business ought not to engage in a single advertising method, we don’t believe in having a single steam of income. This ability to bring in money from other less time consuming sources allows us to spend more attention to our small business clients and provide them with a higher value for their dollar.

We believe that if for every dollar we take in, we can provide two to twenty times the value that dollar would otherwise buy for our client,

we can be more effective in helping local small businesses obtain the presence and therefore the clients they need, not just to exist, but to grow.

The face of the Internet and what works to provide an effective presence changes by the week.

Being able to keep up on those changes can be a huge difference in what one is able to achieve for a client. By keeping our hands in the day-to-day challenges of retailing on-line and marketing other products and services on the Internet, we feel our services are that much more valuable to our clients. Many of the problems they face, we have already faced and know how to handle them.

Why is Otis the Pug our mascot?

Otis had a rough childhood.

He survived heart-worms twice (which alone would have killed a lesser dog). He suffered a blunt trauma that left him blind in one eye and the other is so bad he can only see shadows. He has survived a bout with pneumonia that almost killed him and has had crystallized bladder stones to such a degree he had to be cut open from stem to stern and have them scraped off the sides of his bladder. He has a severely pinched nerve in his back and is probably in constant pain in spite of the pain medication he takes. With all of this, nothing slows him down. He is as busy as ever doing whatever it is that dogs think is important and his love of life and other living things is not diminished in the least. We like to take a lesson from his tenacity. No matter what roadblocks we encounter, we find a way around, over, under and occasionally through them to deliver the best service possible to our clients.
